Birth of the Bell Tour

Join us as we shepherd twelve military artifacts to the Honor Bell's foundry in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Military artifacts which will become part of The Honor Bell when it is cast in May.

Military artifacts which will become part of The Honor Bell when it is cast in May.

We will be providing a transport of dignified military artifacts by roadway in the customized Honor Bell vehicle.  These service related artifacts (dog tags, medals, badges, etc.) belonged to twelve deceased veterans from Colorado. The artifacts are sealed in a custom made (by a veteran owned business) display case that is secured on the slide until the Bell is cast.

Riders and drivers from patriotic and veteran support groups such as the Patriot Guard Riders, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, and Rolling Thunder will accompany the customized Honor Bell vehicle and ride along to show their support and ensure the dignified transport of the artifacts.  At each state line we will conduct a brief ceremony to hand off the artifacts from the custody of one state group to another.  These ceremonies, though brief, will be carried out with the reverence deserved for such items.  The route will be direct along I-70 with a brief stop in Ellis, KS.

The tour is scheduled to begin early morning on May 7, 2016 at the Colorado Freedom Memorial and arrive in Cincinnati late in the day on May 8.  We will have an official welcome ceremony at the foundry prior to the casting on May 9.  The mold will be broken on May 12 revealing the Bell and preparing it for tuning, polishing, and mounting.
