Today is Colorado Gives Day!

Happy Colorado Gives Day! Over 2,000 nonprofit organizations are taking part in one of the most significant giving days in the nation. Since it started in 2010 Colorado Gives Day has raised over $145 million for worthy causes in Colorado, and this year the Honor Bell Foundation is excited to be taking part for the first time!

Why Support Us?

The Honor Bell Foundation is committed to creating a community of veterans to foster public appreciation of military service and honor their fellow veterans with a proper, final tribute. We use the Honor Bell, a 1,000-pound custom-forged bell to deliver bell honors to military service men and women who have passed away. Veteran volunteers known as Bell Guards perform these honors for their comrades. They also take the bell to community events and schools to teach people about the value of military service and the respect and admiration that is due to our heroes in uniform.

These services are provided free of charge because people like you make them possible with your support.

What do Bell Honors mean to the families of veterans?

As the family of one former marine told us, “The tolling of Honor Bell represented the full life cycle of Bill and his military service to our country. It was incredibly meaningful for Bill to be honored by his fellow veterans. They provided Bill with a proper, final tribute. Having Honor Bell Foundation at Bill’s remembrance will be a memory that will be emblazoned on our hearts forever.”

What does the Honor Bell mean to our Veteran Volunteers?

The Honor Bell is tolled exclusively by veterans and active-duty military service members. They come from all branches of the military and have served both in combat and in peacetime. What they all have in common is a love and respect for their fellow servicemen and women, and a commitment to honoring those comrades who have passed away.  "I owe a considerable debt to those men and women, and my participation in Bell Honors is a small token of my admiration and thanks for their devotion," says one of our Bell Guards.
