For the 1,000th time at Fort Logan National Cemetery, the Honor Bell was tolled at a veteran's funeral service on Wednesday. Elio Joseph Tasin served as a Combat Infantry Rifleman in the Army during World War II. He was awarded a Bronze Star for his actions while serving in Europe. Tasin's son, Paul, is a Navy veteran, and tolled the Honor Bell for his father at the service. "It was a great honor, and as I rang, it just seemed like it was another little send-off to my father going to heaven," he said.
