Remembering D-Day

75 years ago Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, France, taking the German Army by surprise and turning the tide of the war in Europe. Over 156,000 American, British and Canadian forces landed on five beaches along a 50-mile stretch of heavily fortified coastline, with supporting action to debilitate and cut off Axis front-line elements by paratroopers and gliders who landed behind German lines.

Today we honor all of the sailors, soldiers, marines and airmen who took part in Operation Overlord. We are forever in your debt.
